The Bachchans' upcoming 'Unforgettable' world tour has something to look forward to - leggy lass Shilpa Shetty is all set to team up with the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai for two performances.
Shilpa is all set to dance the night away with Aishwarya, Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan in London Aug 23-24 at the prestigious 02 Arena, earlier known as the Millennium Dome.
But this is not Shilpa's first show with Amitabh.
"I've been on a world tour with Amitji earlier, but not with the rest of the family. And Preity Zinta, who will also be coming along, is a terrific hassle-free girl. As for Aishwarya, we're both from Mangalore. I'm looking forward to going on stage with her," Shilpa, who was seen in hit movie "Life... in a Metro", told IANS.
Shilpa's popularity soared in Britain after her stint in reality show "The Big Brother", which she went on to win.
And what made Shilpa join the Unforgettable tour at the eleventh hour?
"It's not a last-minute thing at all," said Shilpa. "I had been in negotiation to join the tour for a while. It finally worked out now. I'm looking forward to going on stage with the Bachchans."
While Shilpa will join the Bachchans in London, Madhuri Dixit is expected to perform in the US and Canada and Akshay Kumar will be seen at the inaugural show in Toronto July 18.
Age doesn't matter, says teenaged Hansika
"I am not Hansika when I am playing a role. It is the character I am playing, so the age of my co-star does not matter to me at all," Hansika told IANS.
Hansika started her career as a child artiste in Bollywood and worked in films like "Koi... Mil Gaya", "Escape from Taliban", "Jaago" and "Aabra Ka Daabra".
She debuted as a full-fledged actress at the age of 16 with an actor who was more than double her age, composer-turned-singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya in "Aap Kaa Surroor".
"As an actor you have to play a character when you are asked to. Even if it is a 70-year-old character you have to perform it."
Now Hansika will be seen with the 40-plus Govinda in the forthcoming comedy "Money Hai To Honey Hai". She doesn't mind the age gap and says getting an opportunity to work with a senior actor like him was a privilege.
"I consider myself very lucky to have worked with Govinda sir. I have learnt so much from him and it will definitely be useful to me in future. I think it is a big opportunity for any actor to work with him."
Hansika is playing the role of a television actor in the comedy.
"I play the character of Ashima Kapoor who is a television actor and wants to make it big in the film industry. The film is about the journey of the actress into the film industry."
She has also acted in serials like "Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand", "Hum Do Hain Na" and "Tum Bin".
Hansika gives credit to her family for shaping her career. "I idolise my mother and attribute my success to her. Without my mother and my family's support, I would not have reached this place."

Amitabh Bachchan voted Asia’s sexiest vegetarian
Hong Kong, June 18 (DPA) Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has been voted Asia’s sexiest vegetarian male in a survey conducted by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Hong Kong’s singer-actress Faye Wong was voted Asia’s sexiest vegetarian female in the poll conducted among members of PETA Wednesday.
Runners-up in the competition included Taiwanese drama star Barbie Xu, Hong Kong actress Maggie Q and Cantopop singer and actress Stephy Tang.
Outside Asia, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, pop star Leona Lewis and camp British TV host Russell Brand were among the celebrities who polled most votes as sexiest vegetarians.
PETA Asia-Pacific director Jason Baker said: “Going vegetarian is the best thing you can do for animals, the earth and your health. Plus there’s no easier way to stay slim and sexy - and Faye and Amitabh are living proof.”

I met Kareena during ‘Tashan’, so I don’t mind it: Saif
Mumbai, June 17 (IANS) “Tashan” was a flop, but it is still actor Saif Ali Khan’s favourite film because it brought girlfriend Kareena Kapoor into his life.
“It was great fun making ‘Tashan’ and something really positive came out of it. I met Kareena during ‘Tashan’. That’s enough for me,” Saif told IANS in an interview. Starring Saif, Kareena, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor, the film fell flat at the box office.
The actor also admits that he wants to spend as much time with his girlfriend as possible. He said: “Look, she’s shooting in Australia and I had two months off. So obviously I’d go to visit her. Or if she’s doing an event in Andheri and I can join her, I will.”
Wagging tongues don’t bother Saif who is gearing up for his next release “Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic”.
“I know people will talk about it. I don’t care. Every relationship goes through a period of consolidation. We’ve been together for nine months. We both know how much we mean to each other.”
Excerpts from an interview:
Q: Disheartened by the failure of “Tashan”?
A: Not at all! I liked the script. The role didn’t end up the way I thought it would. It was edited quite a lot. As Aditya Chopra explained to me it was for the betterment of the film. But, yeah, it was a disappointment. I won’t pretend about that.
Q: “Race” was a hit, but it was a terrible film.
A: Who cares what you think about it? It ran, and I was frowning throughout. A superhit, that’s nice; I enjoyed the wheel dealer plot.
Q: Were you convinced?
A: Well…it has taken me a long time to get to the position of the main lead. And the man responsible for this in many ways is Aditya who gave me “Hum Tum” and “Salaam Namaste”. I’ve always trusted his judgment.
Q: But Akshay Kumar had all the punchy dialogues.
A: You win some, you lose some. I knew he had a stronger part. Our roles turned out different from what it was expected to. I really believed in the idea, and we all stood by it. Now let’s see. It was great fun making the film and something really positive came out of it.
Q: What’s that?
A: I met Kareena during “Tashan”. That’s enough for me.
Q: You do want to spend as much time with Kareena as possible?
A: Obviously. Look, she’s shooting in Australia and I had two months off. So obviously, I’d go to visit her. Or if she’s doing an event in Andheri and I can join her, I will. I know people will talk about it. I don’t care. Every relationship goes through a period of consolidation. We’ve been together for nine months. We both know how much we mean to each other.
Q: Why are you frowning so much in public these days?
A: Am I? If you’re talking about the promos of “Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic”, that’s a frowning role.
Q: Is it because of the prying eyes?
A No, one should get comfortable with public attention. I’ll make an effort to look happier. I am happy. I’ve so much to look forward to. I’m doing so well professionally. I’ve a great personal life. I guess I’m just a frowning guy. I must stop that.
Q: You’re moody, that’s all.
A: I guess I am. I can’t help it.
Q: You’re leaving to shoot for your first home production?
A: Yes, I leave for London now. It’s a love story and I’m proud to be producing it. It’s very original, a little too original.
Q: You mean it’s bold?
A: Bold and beautiful. We shoot in London, San Francisco and Delhi. My partner Dinesh Vijan chose the locations.
Q: You seem to be inaccessible to a lot of producers who want to sign you.
A: When I started out, producers didn’t understand the way I worked, and vice versa. A regular filmy set-up didn’t suit me, not because of any snobbery but because I’m not a good improviser. I needed my script and lines so I could work on them.
For so long I was comfortable in my kind of world… you know, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Hum Tum’… I was a little wary of the more old school directors. I decided to venture out and try a cinema I thought I wouldn’t be comfortable with. I worked with Abbas-Mastan. Today I’m open to work with anyone.
Q: But you are still very picky?
A: Yes. Because no matter how many films you do, you can’t have more than three-four releases in a year. So why do any more?
Q: Why did you opt out of Farhan Akhtar’s “Voice From The Sky”?
A: The dates and the finances weren’t making sense. It’s a great story. It’s really sad that it didn’t work out.
I want my script to support Ranbir completely: Prakash Jha
Acclaimed Bollywood director Prakash Jha took five days off to be in Nafplion, Greece, to finish the scripting of his political parable “Rajneeti”. He wants the script to support his lead actor Ranbir Kapoor’s character completely.“It will give Ranbir the chance to do what his other films may not. It’s a very challenging role and since he plays a political figure I’ve to make sure the scripting supports him completely,” Jha told IANS.
“I earlier planned to make a quickie before starting ‘Rajneeti’. But now I’m going straight into ‘Rajneeti’,” he added.
Jha’s film will combine elements from Rajiv Gandhi’s life with the “Mahabharata”. With the exception of one day’s shooting in the US, Jha plans to shoot “Rajneeti” entirely in Bhopal.
The film will feature Ranbir as a student from an Indian political dynasty studying in the US who’s summoned back to take over the political empire in Delhi after a crisis in the family.
“Ranbir will have two co-stars. An Indian and an American actress. We’ve almost finalized both the ladies, A-listers from Hollywood and Bollywood.”
Jha’s earlier releases like “Apaharan” and “GangaaJal” too had heavy doses of politics.
What next? Has he signed any film, post AAMIR? “Just one -- PETER GAYA KAAM SE. The offers haven't stopped since AAMIR released. In fact, I'm off to Ladakh tomorrow [Wednesday] for a vacation and am taking along 7-8 scripts to read. There're times when you're tempted to sign a film when you're offered big money. But my fundas are clear -- first script, then money. I'm in no hurry to grab any and every film that comes my way,” he reveals his game plan.
Rajeev, that's the right way to go about it, if you're looking at playing a long innings here!
